The RVR-COB Code of Ethics

The Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business creates Lasallian Business leaders for God and country. As a Lasallian leader, one should not only think of himself, but should also concern the welfare and betterment of the majority.

The relevance of the code of ethics come into play when the students of De La Salle University enter the business and the corporate world. In order for DLSU to provide quality business leaders to the corporate and business world, an implementation of a Lasallian framework that will serve as a guide for its students is a necessity. The RVR-COB’s code of ethics consists of different sets of rules – a set to instill in the students about their role in the society and a set of commitments that they should make as they continue to move on to their working life. It teaches the role of a Lasallian business leader in the society – which is to lead his people and manage his resources for the benefit of the majority and to know that he is accountable for his decisions would affect a lot of people. This pre-determined role of a Lasallian business leader should be portrayed with integrity, an honest and fair leader to both his superiors and inferiors. An organization led by a leader with integrity, especially a Lasallian Business leader with integrity, is sure to function smoothly because every worker has respect for everyone. The entirety of the code of ethics guides and teaches the COB students on how a good business leader should act and that everything they do should be for the benefit of everyone.

In line with the college’s code of ethics, the entire DLSU community follows a Lasallian Reflection Framework. A Lasallian business leader, through his experience in the business and the corporate world, would understand the current problems and struggles the organizations are facing (Masid-Danas). After the first-hand experience, a Lasallian business leader would aim to understand and reflect on his role in the organization and think of possible ways to solve these problems (Suri-Nilay). A business leader should reflect and understand his role in order for him to properly act and deliver results expected from him. If one truly understands what his role is, which is to be a Lasallian Business leader, then he will be able to act like one and be able to sail the organization for the benefit of its people. This just means that whatever situation the organization is in, the Lasallian Business leader who knows himself and his role will be able to lead the organization for its maximum potential. A Lasallian business leader would then come up with a plan, commit to it, and do it (Taya-Kilos).

To conclude, the Business students of De La Salle University are honed and guided to become a true Lasallian business leader by the Code of Ethics. It helps the university create quality students and helps the university's students to be competitive and ethical in their future endeavours outside the walls of the institution. A true Lasallian leader, thru the Code of Ethics.
